Continuity Errors
- The scene in which Wolverine is given the adamantium is very different from the flashback of this event in X2: X-Men United. It is not as dark or gritty, and Logan is not shown to have blood running down his arms. Furthermore, a young William Stryker appears in said flashback, played by Brad Loree, and he looks nothing like the Stryker in this film, though this is clearly just a casting difference and not a real continuity error. It is possible though that due to both Wolverine's memory loss, and the procedure having occurred nearly two decades before the events in X2, that his mind could have perceived the events differently in trying to fill in the holes as to what happened. The mind is known for remembering the horror and pain of the event more prominently than the actual outcome, causing disrepanciess due to fragments of memories being sotred in different parts of the brain.
- X2: X-Men United makes it somewhat clear that the procedure which gave him the adamantium caused Logan to lose his memory, as he says "As I recall, it was you who had volunteered for the procedure". In this film, he loses his memory when Stryker shoots him in the head with an adamantium bullet. It could be that Stryker was just implying that he was always going to erase Wolverine's memory (which is true), and that they later adapted the memory loss with the same material from the bullet to the procedure long after Wolverine got shot.
- In X2: X-Men United, when Logan asks Stryker about his past, Stryker says: "You were an animal then, you're an animal now. I just gave you claws." In this film, Logan has claws before Stryker gives him the adamantium. However, Stryker's line could be interpreted as giving Logan weapons with which to really do damage.
